There are many different applications available to build Story Maps. They use different approaches and techniques, enabling creating stories with geographic connections. And some of them are entirely free. Examples of the platforms enabling creating story maps are ESRI or Knighlabs. These platforms provide templates for map-based tours, points of interest, in-depth narratives, presenting multiple maps, and much more. They make it possible to achieve an aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly experience when you create the story. But you need to be online to create and access it. Story maps are used in education for a long time to improve students’ comprehension and provide a framework for identifying the elements of a story. They help students of varying abilities, organize information and ideas efficiently. The geographical story maps are examples of creative approaches used in a wide range of subjects and industries.
