How to convert WordPress into a Training Platform
WordPress is a popular Content Management System. It enables users to create, manage, and modify content on a website without specialised technical knowledge. (Fact: WP is now powering more than 35% of the web! WordPress). It is powerful, and it has loads of added functionalities available. They are called plugins or addons; some are free, some paid, and they give WordPress extra powers and enhance what the basic WordPress can do.
WordPress LMS plugins convert WP into the Learning Management System. (This is exactly what LMS stands for)
LMS plugins usually combine a wide range of features to create and manage training content (create courses, lessons, topics, share materials quizzes), enrol and manage users and evaluate them (specifics always depend on the plugin). They integrate with tones of other plugins and addons like eCommerce to sell courses or membership plugins to create communities and manage subscriptions.
You can create your own WordPress training website by adding and using one of the LMS plugins available. Some of them are free, some are paid. Here are some WordPress LMS examples you might consider
- LearnDash – my personal favorite, but not free
- LearnPress – I used it in the past to create training sites completely for free.
- WP Courseware – there is a really good deal on AppSummo at the moment
- Lifter LMS
- Tutor LMS
- Sensei
- Good LMS
- Namaste! LMS
- MasterStudy LMS
